I already voted, and yes I voted for Mr. Braley. And
this makes me feel even better about my vote for him;
One of those veterans was Jesse James, the father of 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc, an Army nurse and Dubuque native who was murdered in July 2008 in Fayetteville, N.C. Speaking to a captive audience, James detailed his battle with government bureaucracy to gain benefits for his daughter's two children.
"It was the worst time of my life," said James, a retired U.S. Army sergeant major who served in Vietnam.
James recalled Braley reading Wimunc's story in the newspaper and acting.
"We didn't have to reach out to him," James said. "He came to see me. I shared my story with him and every step of the way in my dealings with the government on the behalf of my daughter's children. Bruce and his staff offered anything they could do for us. They paved the road to obtain those benefits.
