Had my LTTE published today;

Got my latest LTTE published today. And it wasn't really a political LTTE this time around.

It was concerning an area road that was used as a shortcut by semi trucks and that also has quite a bit of activity by area farmers.

One thing that was left out of the article "Board to limit shortcut access" (Oct. 28) is that by banning most large trucks using Skyline Road as a shortcut, it will help make the road safer for the residents and especially for area farmers -- some of whom are my relatives.

I use the road on a fairly regular basis, as I live nearby. During planting and harvesting, there can be quite a bit of slow-moving equipment on Skyline Road, and I have seen how fast some semi drivers go on Skyline. Several years ago, my brother was involved in an accident on Skyline Road, where a semi slammed into the back of the bale carrier he was hauling with a tractor. He and the other driver walked away, but it could have easily been much worse.

I'm glad the county supervisors have taken this action, and I would like to thank them for working to make Skyline Road safer for the area residents and farmers.
