"We are One" rally in Des Moines

Got an email from the Iowa Federation of Labor yesterday with information about a "We Are One" rally being held on Tuesday at the state capitol. It is at 1:00 PM on the west steps of the Iowa State Capitol bldg. If you are able, please attend. There is absolutely no doubt that branstad and his cronies will try to destroy organized Labor like that jackass in Wisconsin is trying now, so we must stand together and make sure it doesn't happen. Hope to see some of you there! SOLIDARITY!

I have no clue what I'll be wearing but if it's real cold, I'll have a black nylon parka and I will have a Boilermakers hat. I am a member of the Boilermakers Union. If it isn't brutally cold, I'll likely have a gray hooded sweatshirt, zipper style. Either way, I'll be sporting a Boilermakers hat. Hope to see you there. SOLIDARITY!

4. I'll wear my white Iowa cap

As much as I don't like wearing a hat, I'll have an Iowa cap in my car that I'll wear. Hope to see you there. During the Tea Party rallies(yes I went to hear and see what they were saying) I stood up on the "stage" or the top of the stairs with all the speakers. I'll probably be hanging around up their.

5. Ok cool

Turns out that my Boilermakers hat is messed up so it is basically unwearable. But I will try to hunt down an old DU sticker and carry it with me. I will wear a hat which says, "Reverend Raven". I doubt that anyone will have anything like that. Let's make some history and bring these Union busting bastards to their knees. SOLIDARITY!

I wish I would have brought my camera as there was one fellow flying what looked like the stripe portion of an American flag. Oh my.

9. No I missed that guy

As a matter of fact, I really didn't see any teahadists there. But I was in the crowd and was focusing in on the speakers. That one minister was pretty good. The minister who discussed all the different religious leaders who sent walker messages, all to no avail. And I have to admit, I was surprised to see my rep., Bruce Braley there. But he is a pro labor guy and he is an Iowan. Overall, not a bad rally I'd say.

10. Btw, what was up with all the busses?

Around four or five busses pulled up toward the end of the rally but I only saw a few people get out. Were those some of the teahadists? The guys I saw were well dressed and didn't look like teahadists. But maybe I'm wrong. Btw, I brought my camera and if I can figure out how to post pics, I will.
