Gee, that didn't take long.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Less than half of Iowans polled approve of Gov. Terry Branstad's job after a month in office.

The Iowa Poll commissioned by the Des Moines Register shows 45 percent of Iowans are pleased with Branstad's performance.

Branstad was governor from 1982 until 1998. The Republican returned to the office last month and has proposed a tight budget freezes education spending and cuts hundreds of state jobs.

The poll shows three-fourths of Iowans questioned are skeptical he'll meet his goal of 200,000 new jobs in the next five years and even more are skeptical he can increase family incomes by 25 percent.

1. He wants to obliterate our universal preschool education and
cut back on family-planning services for low-income women.

Why on earth wouldn't we be just thrilled spitless with him???

2. Buyers remorse
Gee, who would have predicted that? Um, everybody who pays attention to what's going on, that's who.

5. again ask the Hispanics
Only people who would have the right to buyers remorse are the hispanics. They've always spoken highly of him. And there's plenty in the state. I'm not griping at Hispanics, but thats who we should be polling. Like wondering what blacks think of certain subjects. Well. Go ask them. Don't get a white man to tell me what blacks think. Go off and ask them. Like Egypt. I don't need Fucks Nuts to tell me what Egypt or Libya is thinking. Check the opposite news, international news and see their side of the story.

6. My former dentist likes him
He had a sign out in front of his office. That's why I changed dentists. A bar up the street from my house also liked him. They also had a sign out in front of their establishment. That is why I won't patronize that place. Plenty of people of all races liked him, at least around here. Whether they like him now, well I don't know.

4. While the WI protest is front and center, Des Moines protest is out
aunt and uncle live there and supposedly it's in full swing. And Branstad. Nobody likes him. Only the Hispanics loved him, thats the only way he was elected. Tea Party members hate his guts, and Democrats hate him just as well. So this poll has no surprises. Ask the poll for Hispanics. I think Branstad has changed since he was last in but they wouldn't listen. Republicans were big Hispanic supporters up thru Bush. Until they turned on them.

7. I have a neighbor who is a staunch Republican.......
and works for the DOT, he's had a state job for many years.
He (for probably the FIRST time in his life), voted for a DEMOCRAT!!
We were talking before the election, and he said he couldn't stand Braindead when he was in office before, and he sure wasn't going to vote for him again.

If died-in-the-wool Republicans didn't like him...who does??

8. Actually, I would be suprised if he polled higher in any poll the first time around.
For the life of me, I still cannot figure out how he stayed in office.
