Harkin picks Edwards to headline fund-raiser - AP

WATERLOO, Iowa A Democratic strategist says U-S Senator Tom Harkin has picked 2004 vice presidential candidate John Edwards as the headline speaker for his annual steak fry next month.

Jeff Link told The Associated Press that the fund-raiser will provide Edwards with a chance to speak to thousands of activists as he considers another run for the party's nomination.

Harkin is scheduled to make the formal announcement tomorrow (Wednesday).

This year's steak fry is scheduled for September 18th at the Warren County Fairgrounds.

Edwards is in Iowa right now attending various events in Cedar Rapids, Waterloo and Marshalltown. I'm not going to any of these due to my busy schedule. However, I cannot wait until the steak fry. Elizabeth attended last year and it was a great event.
