Got a message from the Loebsack campaign (IA-02)
A fundraiser, but it caught my attention so I thought I'd pass some of it on. Loebsack seems to be making Leach nervous. Analysts give Loebsack a good shot at winning.
Why? Well Leach has simply not done a lot in 30 (yes, 30) years. He has also been in the administration's back pocket, ready to vote for them in critical situations. Only just recently has Leach heard the rumbles and started to make some token gestures against the Bushies.
Anyway with a financial reporting deadline coming up, the Loebsack campaign is asking for grassroots support of $30, a dollar for each of Leach's 30 years by September 30th.
For those who think Leach is a moderate, think again. Wouldn't it be nice to have a representative that reflected the values of his district, a rep whose vote you could feel comfortably would line up for the Democratic values. Not a representative who throws out an occassional crumb?

Do all Iowa politicans have "sack" at the end of their names?

Vilsack, Loebsack...any others?

Sorry I'm in Texas. Can't help much.

2. Interesting observation - well 'Leach' doesn't have a 'sack'
I think that is why I want him to go so badly. 30 years and the best leadership position he can garner is a subcommittee on North Korea. Like that's gonna do Iowa any good? He has little respect in his own party. The only value he has to them is that vote of his they can count on most of the time, else they really show him NO respect.
So give me some one with a 'sack'. Our district needs it.

3. Well, with name like Leach....
:spray:

FWIW...

I loved Iowa when I visited volunteering for Dean. I'd love to have a beautiful old farmhouse outside a town (but not TOO far outside). Either there or Wisconsin. Pretty rolling hills, 4 seasons, old barns...

Nothing like the flat plains and scrub cedar and never-ending freaking heat. I REALLY need out of Texas!
