How close to corruption is Nussle?

Maybe this is a reach, but here goes:

<snip>

According to the indictment, Terry Nelson, the political director in the 2004 Bush re-election campaign, was the individual who received the $190,000 check, which was made out to a division of the R.N.C. That check is alleged to have included money illegally accepted from corporations.

Mr. Nelson, the indictment says, simultaneously received a list of Republican candidates for the Texas State Legislature for whom the money was intended. Under Texas law, it is illegal for state candidates to use corporate contributions.

Who is Terry Nelson?

<snip>

political director: Terry Nelson, former RNC official, former political director of the National Republican Congressional Committee and former campaign manager for Rep. Jim Nussle, R-Iowa.

Probably old news to you all who were here in 1994 - but new to those of us who only know Nick Ryan as Jim Nussle's keeper.

1. ooooo I want to know too!

I am still upset that Nagle lost to him in 92 when both incumbents had their districts combined in redistricting. I HATE that he is an alumnus of my school, Luther College.

Someone, do tell.

2. I wasn't around for all of their battles

but I do know that the legislature really stuck it to Nagle by removing Johnson County from his district. He went from a VERY strong Democratic district to a 20,000 plus registered republican district and still came closer than ANY of Nussle's opponents over the years.

But now Nussle has to run state-wide and we should not let him forget about his hypocrisy regarding family values and campaign ethics.

Edited because I can't spell when I'm angry!
