Brian Kennedy: Genius in Mexico
#1 issue in CD 1? Not health insurance costs, not jobs, not the war, no... ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!

http://www.hillnews.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Campaign/022206_state.html

Iowa’s 1st District GOP candidate Brian Kennedy traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border Tuesday on a “fact-finding mission” aimed at highlighting his support for doing more to secure the border and curb illegal immigration.

Kennedy toured the Mexican border town Nuevo Laredo, which is close to Texas, and met with officials from both sides of the border.

...

Kennedy’s plan for illegal immigration includes employing 10,000 new Border Patrol agents, expanding the use of unmanned aerial surveillance vehicles and establishing a volunteer force to work with the agents.

...

Kennedy said immigration is the No. 1 question people ask about on the campaign trail.

2. Our gov here in MN started to make this an issue this year too
so I wonder if there has been som RNC focus group work done on the issue and Latinos are the new group to scapegoat (along with gays).

3. As a First District resident
I can honestly say that illegal immigration is down on the list of issues, at least to people I know. The jobs we have lost are high on the list, as well as health care and Iraq, of course. To be fair to Kennedy though, the people he campaigns around probably are concerned about immigration. Can't have those non-whites in here now, can we? Maybe Mr. Kennedy should concentrate on issues we here in the First District really care about, and stay away from the Mexican border. If he's worried about borders, we border Illinois. Maybe he wants to tear down all of the bridges we have between the two states. After all, we don't want those pesky Illinoisans spending their money here do we?

4. It's a big deal w/the republicans, but Democrats are worried about
eating, heating their homes, KEEPING their homes, paying for health care and their children's and grandchildren's education.

I guess republicans already have those issues covered???!!!???
