Who are you considering for 2008?

1. When will Russ come to Iowa?
I am hoping he will be touring our state soon. I would love to get him to Ames.

3. Check out the link in my sig
Iowa for Feingold, so I guess you wouldn't be able to guess who I am supporting.

We held a meetup in Iowa City at the beginning of the month and had 8 people attend. There is some interest in a meetup in central Iowa (Ames or Des Moines) and I might organize one at the end end of the month (the 25th maybe). I will decide once the County Convention is over tomorrow.

4. Currently I favor Feingold, but not exclusively
I still like Edwards and Clark to a degree. I would vote for Boxer first if she ran.
Not in my scope - Kerry (could have stood up in Ohio)
- Bayh (seems to be R-lite)
- Biden (the senator from MNB)
- anyone named Bush or Clinton (this place is starting to look like a royal
family runs it)
Totally indifferent to Mark Warner so far - need more info.
What about Brian Schietzer from Montana - what I see I like so far.

5. I agree with your assessments
I like Edwards too, but don't know that much about Clark and hope that Iraq gets better by 2008 and we don't need a General so much.

I think Schweitzer is a little to unknown and new to politics to run in 08. He would be a good VP candidate or a candidate for Senate and then run for President later on.

6. Preference seems to be for governors for prez lately.
But I am not sure how Vilsack or the others will do. Our senators flash through the sky or run humdrum campaigns and get us nowhere.

7. As for Governors
I like Bill Richardson out of New Mexico. First off, he is Hispanic and would connect to a new demographic of voters and being from New Mexico he would put some more states into play to go Democratic (CO, NV, AZ). He also served in the Clinton Administration as Diplomat to the UN, so he has the foregin policy thing down too.

A Feingold/Richardson ticket would be a nice balance.

Though I also think Barak Obama would be a nice VP candidate and then he could run in 2016 for President.

9. Or Richardson/Feingold
Barak should be in the Senate at least two terms, I think.

8. I'm wondering how this poll would look
if you posted it in a more general discussion group.

Me, Feingold!

11. Voted "Other". Governor Brian Schweitzer of Montana
This guy really intrigues me. I mean, he has told bush to kiss his ass,in so many words, he has a pretty good plan for coal mining as well as coal gasification, and is sharp as a tack. It also wouldn't hurt to carry the Western states, which I think he could.

12. Come general election time Montana only carries 3 electoral votes
Not that his being on the ticket might not influence the Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado or some of the other Northwestern states.

13. I believe it will
His being on the ticket may very well influence the Dakotas, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, and maybe even New Mexico. I gave up on Utah, but I think since Schweitzer is a westerner and knows what concerns people out there, he would have a good chance of influencing the people out that way. And besides that, I like what I've seen and heard of him so far.

14. Anyone who can make Montana's 'Purple Mountains Majesty'
Almost Blue (just get rid of Burns, Rehberg & their voting for Bush) is high up there in my book!

(Hope Tester does well in the Primary, would like to see him take out Burns).
