by visit to Iraq. Certainly it is salutary to escape the scandals at home by projecting an earnest image. Works for Shrub, doesn't it?

1. It also pads his foreign affairs portfolio - one the Governor of a small |
state is lacking. Now he's been 'war hardened'. I'm waiting to see what he says about troops in Iraq. When does he want them to come home?

4. And how much do we ever hear about the DLC |
or, for that matter, the PNAC in the DM Register?

5. When news outlets are in business solely to make profits |
then there is no longer a 'free press'.

6. Our local paper always has pictures of people handing |
awards to each other, a lot of news about car wrecks and then the weddings & obits and something like 8 pages of high school sports. One issue a week has some a few LTTE's and editorials mostly about the Good Old Days or some amusing trivia. The LTTE's are largely poisonous (a zillion babies now killed by liberals!) or stuff like "We should honor the vets (or police or firemen) or thanks for the great attendance at the Elks Pancake Supper.OOdles of ads, of course. Then a page headed "Attend the church of your choice followed by a list of local churches and times of worship. I used to write some satirical left wing letters long ago but realized nobody was "getting" them. If I didn't laugh so much at our dopey paper I would probably have jumped in the Mississippi long ago.
