I saw a Mike Blouin ad this morning
Edited on Tue Apr-25-06 12:18 PM by Debi
on KWWL and all I can say is WHO THE HELL DOES HE THINK HE'S KIDDING????

He's all nice and friendly (good old Grandpa Mike) standing on a play ground wearing a blue oxford and a navy blue sweater-vest. He talks about being first in education and holding corporations accountable so they don't mistreat their employees and protecting small farms.

WAIT, BACK UP...HOLDING CORPORATIONS ACCOUNTABLE?? You mean like responding to a questionnaire about the Values Fund? You mean like making sure that corporations that he gave millions and millions of tax-payer dollars to pay their employees a LIVING WAGE? What kind of crap is that?

If anyone has ever met Mike Blouin sees the ad they'll get a good laugh. I've never seen the man not in a dark blue suit (including at a summer flag-day picnic in June of last year), I can't remember the last time I saw him smiling and I've personally seen his temper in action.

Good old Grandpa Mike saving Iowa from greedy corporations MY ASS.

What ever happened to truth in advertising?? :eyes:

On edit

Here's a news piece about Blouin's media buys:

1. Ha!
Your posts just crack me up sometimes!

I haven't had the opportunity to see Blouin's ads yet, but we can only hope they stay civil and issue-oriented. It would be a shame to eat each other alive (ahem..that means you Mr Blouin, and Culver to an extent) and give the Republicans and easy go at it.

The fact that Nussle brought in more money with the McCain and Bush visits than Culver did all of last year (and he was the front runner wasn't he) is scary. There will be enough anti-dem bullshit on the airwaves without us tearing each other apart!

I think we will need national attention and big-name fundraisers to help us defeat Nussle's money-machine, I just hope we don't scare everyone away with negative advertising.

2. If you believe the rumor mills
Blouin will run the two 'nice guy' ads for the next two weeks and then (if he can afford it) start the negative ads for the remaining month of the campaign. (and if he can't afford it he'll go off the air for a couple of weeks and then go negative the end of May to the primary)

:eyes: Seth, it's gonna get bad-nasty. I think we should all move to a state that doesn't have a primary for the next month and 1/2! (and I'm hit w/the Governor's race, the Congressional race AND County Supervisor's race!!!!) :wow: AACK!!
