2. you mean Thursday May 19th?
If so, that conflicts with the Thomas Frank booksigning which I plan to attend (unless they are out of tickets. I have to call them tomorrow.) Or maybe it will be possible to do both.

I had my womb removed 7 years ago. So I can no longer blame hormones on the dumb things I do.

32. Good & bad news!
Yes, a job has been found in the same industry, but it's in Arlington, Texas....:-( . We're in the process of getting the home here ready for the market & we were out there last week, looking around. I hate leaving the kids here, but it's not too far away. It's Texas, though, dammit!

34. I am glad a
job has been found but very sorry we will lose you to Texas. Somehow I think they are almost interchangeable with Kansas these days so there at least should not be any major culture shock. Darn, we will miss you.

11. Say it ain't so.
I have to re-certify to teach some stuff. From 4:30 until 8:00, and probably longer. Maybe I could come after my duties are done.

But, I will be a shambling stinky wreck by 9, and you all will be gone, and I will just be some poor soul walking around listening for happy voices and breaking chairs, and looking to see if Bob Bordella is still selling single ear rings.

I'd really like to see you all again. If I don't, have fun...take pictures.

whine whine whine that's me.

Kim

But by some stroke of bad luck, DH is out of town next week again. Assuming there's no stomach flu in the picture this time, I should be able to leave the kids with a sitter, though.

edited to add that I'm really looking forward to meeting some more Kansas Dems. I've noticed lately that I'm getting increasingly cranky about how other people see our state, but since we live here we can still criticize it without offending each other, right? :toast:

20. Can't make it after all.
A dear friend died. His funeral is in Lawrence that afternoon so I will not feel like making the extra miles to have fun although I probably would need it. Still, don't count on me.

All I saw so far was "can't make". So I'll post here so that people know that at least 2 people will be there!

See you all Wednesday.

23. Dammit, my younger child is a sniffling, whiny mess tonight.
If he is coming down with a cold, I won't be able to make it. Can't get the babysitter's kids sick too. :( I really need the R&R this week, too.

25. You know, Atommom,
we could just come to your house and bring all these good Democratic vibes to your family. That'll heal them all right up.

Get well soon.

26. That could work! I'm pretty sure it's the freeper vibes from the
houses on either side of us making the children sick. But we'll have to wait to try that until my carpet dries from the intense shampooing I had to do to get an entire bottle of wood glue out.

Yes, I'm not having the best week here... ;)

27. Reminds me of the time
one of my kids had one of those HUGE stuffed animals and it sprung a leak. He yelled "Mom, come here, it's snowing in my room!"

We lived in that house for about ten years after that and I swear I never did get rid of all those little while styrofoam balls that came out of that huge stuffed animal.

28. How did it go? I thought of you all.
As I was digging my nails into my palms trying to stay alert in a class. Looking at the clock. I bet they're laughing about now, and taking pictures. And eating. I'm so jealous. Post pictures, if you took them. I understand the picture guru is unhappily occupied, and I'm sorry for your loss, MR.

cutting holes in the sofa cushions with kitchen shears. :nuke:
