This could be a good sign ... this is a Dem who nearly beat Phill Kline a few years ago. Now that Kline's profile is so much higher, the question is whether he has gotten more or less popular... (I vote less, obviously!)
Democrat Chris Biggs -- still upbeat about his surprisingly strong performance in 2002 -- said Monday that he is open to the idea of making another bid for attorney general next year.
It would set up a rematch against Republican Attorney General Phill Kline, who has said he plans to seek re-election and who won the seat three years ago in a close race with Biggs.
"I haven't ruled it out," said Biggs, who lives in rural Geary County, where he once served as county prosecutor. "That's probably a question I've been getting two or three times a day."
Biggs surprised many in 2002 when he came from relative anonymity to nearly knock off Kline, who had served in prominent positions in the Legislature and had recently lost a close bid for Congress.
