Chalk it up as another case of Christian hypocrisy. The trial of the man accused of murdering his wife so he could pursue a more sexually adventurous lifestyle has begun in Lawrence, Kansas. Believe me, the Rev. Byrd (from Emporia, KS) could take some lessons from this guy.
Here's a synopsis: Apparently Marty wanted a much different lifestyle than his wife wanted so he used the internet to find new friends. He found several but settled on one in particular. Marty and his girlfriend rented a house in nearby Eudora, Kansas. Marty told his wife that he was going to the house in Eudora for bible study and would duck out at night. Actually his his bible studies consisted of "...kinky sex. There was bondage. There was spanking, and there were...pictures taken" according to the prosecutor Brandon Jones. Unfortunately, the only impediment to Marty's lifestyle was, of course, Martin's wife, Mary.
Retrieved from the family computer along with over 6,000 pornographic images is a letter from Marty to his mistress that says,
When I am a single again, yours will be the first door I knock on, if you are still available. I still feel that God is going to work something out. I don't know when. I don't know how. http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2005/jun/16/millertrial/?martin_miller_trial Apparently God's chosen method was for Marty to murder his wife.
One night, after Mary had gone to sleep, Marty booted up the computer and searched for the terms "deepest sleep patterns". Shortly after Marty went through his search results, he turned off the computer and, according to prosecutors, murdered his wife. Unfortunately for Marty, the kids heard mom's muffled screams and the words, "no," "please" and "don't."
Here's an excerpt of recent trial coverage taken from
http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2005/jun/15/miller/?martin_miller_trialIn one photo, Martin K. Miller is smiling and wearing a suit and tie.
In another, he's reclining with his arms extended, wearing nothing but a blindfold and a pair of black leather shorts.
Prosecutors showed jurors the two images back-to-back Tuesday during opening statements of Miller's first-degree murder trial, to illustrate what they say was Miller's double life: one as a religious man involved in his church and his children's Christian school, the other as a sex addict and pornography connoisseur who wanted relationships with other women.Who can say Kansas isn't a happening place? If this isn't "movie of the week" material I don't know what is.
