Evolution debate
Evolution is impossible? Kansas school board member Connie Morris is deliberately conflating three main theories of evolution.
The theories of common descent and descent with modification suggest that different species can come from a common ancestor species though gradual change and divergence from the ancestor. These two theories have been tested thousands of times.
These two theories do not tell us what causes evolution, but simply that it happens. In order to legitimately say that this change is impossible, you would have to have perfect knowledge of all possible biology — something nobody has, certainly not Connie Morris.
Instead of showing that common descent and descent with modification are impossible, Ms. Morris just tries to refute one proposed cause, natural selection, then pronounces that she has proven no substantial change can happen. Common descent and descent with modification are verified by real evidence.
Until she makes a list of all possible causes, then shows that every one of them is impossible, Morris is just blowing smoke.

Connie Morris has stated that the theory of evolution is a fairy tale. For all I know, she is correct.
According to the Bible she takes at face value, some old guy constructed a boat, loaded it up with the world’s animals and then sailed to higher ground to avoid a flood. Another Bible story is about some dude who managed to live in the belly of a whale for three days, pop out and possibly lived the rest of his life as a dedicated land-lubber.
Yes, indeed, Morris knows all about fairy tales.
