Dennis Moore votes for CAFTA
CAFTA passed in the House by 217-215, and Dennis Moore was one of the 15 Democrats who voted for it. (27 Republicans voted against it.)

House Republican leaders prevailed over mostly Democratic objections that the agreement leaves American workers vulnerable to losing their jobs, and Latin American workers vulnerable to laboring without employment protections.

More.

This didn't need to happen. Shame on Moore.

2. 15 assholes
We could have handed bushco a humiliating defeat. Instead it is business as usual. As an opposition party we are a joke.

4. Cleaver voted against it
I'm glad to see he listened to me.

However, Ike Skelton (D-MO) voted for CAFTA. If only he and Moore would have voted with their Democratic colleagues.

I only vote for Dennis any more because the alternatives are usually nightmares in comparison.

6. There is a front page article in KC Star today
It is sort of an apology from Dennis Moore. Cleaver is quoted thruout the article. He says he and Moore spent a lot of time discussing how Moore should vote.

The article says that Moore along with many other Dem congress reps got a letter from AFL-CIO which angered the Dems. So the gist is that the unions shot themselves in the foot by pressuring congress to defeat CAFTA.

7. You're damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Contacting members of Congress is a necessary evil ... but how is a group supposed to know when their representatives might decide that the group wants something so much, and is pushing so hard, that they (the reps) must vote against it just to flex their muscles? How can the groups be persistent enough to be effective without promoting backlash?
