Going back to Crawford, will miss the meetup.
My husband agreed that Crawford was the place to be so we are leaving tomorrow morning (Tuesday) for a return engagement but one extra day this time. Be home Friday evening.

Proud, the Best Western guy remembered me and thinks we will be in the same room that we had.

See you all at the next meetup I hope and have a wonderful time. I will miss you.

Oh yes, I have to tell you all not to believe anything that proud2Blib says about me. I do NOT snore.

1. I would love to be there.
If I had my license I'd be down there alongside you in a heartbeat...and if I could afford the gas costs.

2. I will take you with me
in spirit. Every little good wish helps, believe me. The Crawford Peace House runs on it.

Want me to give Andrew a hug for you? Please?

5. Yes of course.
I wonder if he is still there.

I heard on CNN today that if Joan Baez is there, we have a full scale anti-war movement going. I loved it! :)

6. Damn right!
My local news just said the same and they never cover anything like this. They also aired part of Cindy's ad. Hmmmmm, movement? Yes things are certainly gaining momentum.

12. Speaking of Joan Baez
It looks like my redhaired friend is a volunteer coordinator at Camp Two and Rex (yes, our Rex) is Joan's driver for today.

Here's the information from larryville.com

Update From Crawford

Got a phonecall from a Larryvillager camped outside Crawford, Texas. She is staying in “Camp Two.” This is the land volunteered by a local. (As an aside, this gentleman is a cousin of the local Yeah-Hoo who fired a shotgun over the heads of protesters about a week ago.)

“Camp One” is still being maintained, i.e. people are still camped in the ditch where Cindy made her stand after security people backed her up when she first tried to talk to Bush at his “ranch.” People are also staying at the peace camp in Crawford. Camp One and Camp Two are situated so that Bush can’t leave his ranch without driving by protesters. His only alternative is to use a helicopter, a choice he has made at least once.

Hard to estimate the total number of protesters, but it swells on weekends when workaday Texans spend their free time to help protest this illegal and immoral war. A lot of people coming and going on the weekdays. Our caller is involved in organizing and coordinating volunteers. Cindy is planning to come back to Crawford soon, family matters allowing.

Another Larryvillager will reportedly be driving Joan Baez around the area later today. Joan has been there doing media interviews for several days, as well as singing for the people and telling stories of her participation in the Free Speech Movement at Berkeley, civil rights, the Viet Nam war, etc.

Camp will break around August 31, when Bush heads back to the White House. The plan is to re-establish camp close to the White House at that time.

14. I ran right into them.
I was walking up to the camp last night and the woman was staring at me really funny. I wondered if I had met her here last time when my brain finally kicked in I realized who it was. I talked to her a little and to Rex. It was lovely to see them.

I am just back for a few then headed back out to Casey for tonight. It was a long hard day of camp work but well worth it, especially because everything will be looking good and in order for Cindy tonight.

15. LOL. Thanks for the update
I'm glad you made it. I'm even happier that guys found each other. I figured you would. I understand they are staying until (or was that through?) the weekend.

Tell them :hi: for me and when you give Cindy a hug, make sure it is from all of us.

7. No one snores; well, not you and certainly not me.
I know this because I have never once heard my snoring, and I've never ever heard you snore. Everyone else lies, to suppress our spirit. THEY all snore.

Travel safe. I will be thinking about you and yours, and all the others gathered there.

Kim

8. LOL you are my new best friend.
We will be careful and I bring to Camp Casey the love from the good people of Kansas, especially the DU group!

Never snored in my life and the time my husband recorded me when I was pregnant, it was the dog.

10. Yes, I am sure I can, barring some
catastrophe. Actually, my baby's daddy will be around, so he's on the disaster detail.

See you then.
