Whatever the ongoing dispute over evolution does to the overall Kansas economy, it's doing wonders for at least one part of it.
Anything having to do with either evolution or intelligent design is a hot seller - and not just for those who oppose the Kansas Board of Education's decision earlier this month to adopt new science standards that treat evolutionary theory as flawed.
At Perfect Peace Christian Lifestyle store in Wichita, for example, the controversy has fueled sales of books on the topic.
"We have a whole book section for it," employee Kane McEntire told The Kansas City Star. "We probably have 30 or 40 titles. With the current controversy, it's been really big. Whatever side you're on, it's something that people are very interested in."
