a way for Johnson County DUers to vote in Missouri (if they can afford it)
buy a cheap shack in the Missouri side of the Kansas City area, use that address to register in Missouri and vote there, after the election sell it to someone like Homevestors

1. Do I live in
the cheap shack also? Or can I keep my mansion on the KS side?

3. I just read an article in the KC Star
about folks voting in both KS and MO. Apparently, it is a significant problem.

5. If you read the article carefully
you'll find that it does not seem to be that much of a problem. They found all of three people who had deliberately voted in two places. I'm sure there are more out there, but it's hardly enough to sway any races.

The real problem is that our entire registration and voting system is rooted in the 18th century, and has hardly been updated in all these years. Why can't voters register centrally, and update their address easily? Why do they have to completely re-register if they move? Why can't a person register on election day itself and vote? Minnesota does it, and they're not rife with voting fraud the last I checked.

6. I thought the article said
there were more than 1000. They just interviewed 3.

7. That's how I read it.
I think it's called voter fraud. I don't care who does it, it's wrong and there should be a BIG price to pay.

9. What I saw was that
they could only verify a handful of double votes. Maybe there were more, but they couldn't be certain, in part because in some places voting records had been shredded.

It came across in the end as a less than serious problem.

8. hmmmm
Can't I just rent a cheap shack? Do I have to buy it? Does my dog have to live there too? (Of course, I may need the dog, depending on the cheap shack neighborhood).

I think this would work, as long as you don't commit a felony and also vote in Kansas. Not worth going to jail for.

11. There used to be an Adam Taff sign on Ward Parkway during the primaries...
I thought that was strange...

12. That is odd
But they probably figured a lot of Kansans go home that way.
