Maybe I'm just easily amused.

Kansas hunters criticize Cheney
BY MICHAEL PEARCE
The Wichita Eagle

Kansas hunter education instructors say Vice President Dick Cheney broke safe hunting rules when he shot another hunter Saturday in Texas.

"Ultimately, the trigger-puller is always at fault," said Wayne Doyle, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks hunter education coordinator.

. . .

Ray Fischer, an instructor from Claflin, said Cheney also broke one of the 10 rules of safe gun handling --"Be sure of your target and beyond" -- listed in the Kansas hunter education book.

. . .

Doyle said those are among the primary lessons more than 400,000 students have learned in Kansas hunter education classes.

1. So am I
easily amused that is.

I've been wondering if Big Unit would chime in on this topic. I had understood him to be a hunter.

3. What I Don't Understand
Big'n is indeed a hunter. Up until the time Cheney finally talked to Fox News, I was quite disturbed that Mary Matalin and other spinsters were trying to blame everyone but the shootist. At this point though, the unanswered questions I have are, how many beers did Cheney REALLY have at lunch? Second, I understand that the woman who finally spilled the beans to the Corpus Christi news, and who was along on the hunt, was previously a member of the Texas Wildlife Dept. If so, then how did she manage to let Cheney and Whittington fail to buy the wildlife stamps they were cited for not having? If ANYONE should have made sure that they were complying with all hunting permits and stamps, it surely should've been an ex-Texas Dept. of Wildlife official. And why were they not fined for violating this law? Is there some reason why they would be above the law?

2. One lesson they teach kids, that I've heard
"Never point your gun at something you aren't willing to destroy".

And, I think that's the problem.

After all, we all know how little Cheney values human life...
