Nancy Boyda
is running in the 2nd district (Jim Ryun's district).

http://www.nancyforcongress.com/index.php

There was a fundraiser for her tonight. She needs money (of course) and I think she is worthy of our donations. I told her I would put a plug in for her here.

Nancy said her campaign in 2004 cost $1.3 million. Today she asked for supporters to commit to a 20 for 20 pledge; it's an agreement to work to get 20 people to donate $20. Clever idea.

She said some interesting things. She talked a lot about converting the republicans. They are mostly opposed to bush and disgusted by their party. They are basically behind us in terms of what they know about the corruption and bad leadership of their republican politicians. They are just now learning about PNAC and the neocon agenda. And they are pissed.

She said the moderate religious groups are angry at the far right and she is getting a lot of help from them for her campaign. I know I have heard rumblings of that anger here in Johnson County.

I feel very hopeful for a return to a Dem majority in November after listening to Nancy Boyda tonight. Most voters want a change. The repukelicans have sufficiently screwed things up and are losing their base.

Good news :)

1. I also think Boyda is worthy of our donations
Thanks for posting this. I just wish more of us were in her district. I'm in Moore's district but as many of you know I fully support Nancy and will continue to work to get her elected. We need more Democratic representation from Kansas in congress.

4. First Wed of every month
I left it open so she could pick a date. I also told her we would schedule her on a different date if that fits her schedule better.

I will let you know what she decides to do.
