LOL That other one is way too long! It is also turning into match.com (or the left wing equivalent).

To remind you all - we are meeting Sunday, July 16 at The Westport Flea Market at 6:00. PM me or post here if you need directions. Some of us will be at Nichols Fountain at 47 and Main from 4 to 5 at our regular weekly peace protest so feel free to come early and join us there.

I have been contacted by the KC organizer for drinking liberally. Turns out they have a meetup on the third Sunday at The Record Bar. They have been meeting at The Hurricane but is is undergoing ownership change so drinking liberally is switching to The Record Bar. He asked if we could merge our groups for this meetup. I said sure but could we meet at The Flea Market since we have out of town people coming and they know where The Flea Market is. I haven't heard back from him yet.

I am wondering if we should reserve the party room? It used to cost $20 but I don't know what they charge now since the new people took over at the Flea. I will ask for an idea of numbers from the drinking liberally guy and get back to you guys.

Found this description of The Flea Market on a local restaurant site. For you newcomers, they take cash only but they do have an ATM. And the burgers are fabulous!

Bright lights and neon signs highlight a full-sized game room that features pinball, shuffleboard and old-fashioned darts. Order at the counter, listen for your name over the loudspeaker and then pick up your food at the window. The Flea Market Burger is one of KC's very best: thick, juicy beef patty topped with your choice of fresh condiments; with its lean corned beef, the Reuben sandwich is another winner. Non-beef options are available.

Anyone who can find Westport Flea Market can find the recordBar, which is basically just about two blocks west on the other side of Westport Road.

The recordBar has good pizza. That said, I love the Flea Market--it's an institution.

And I'll be out of town on the 16th.

But they very rarely have early shows on Sunday nights. Bands usually don't start until after 10:00 (though soundcheck might be problematic).
