Eight weeks before the election, our internal polling shows us two points ahead of Jim Ryun.

We just finished a press conference to announce these results to the media. Our poll (which was conducted by Infomark Research, a well-respected outside firm) asked nearly 500 likely voters in the Kansas Second District whom they would vote for if the election were held today.

Forty-one percent said my opponent. Forty-three percent said Nancy Boyda.

This is tremendous, exciting, gratifying news, and we've only achieved this incredible result through your ongoing support. But we must not stop now.

With eight weeks until the election, anything can happen.... and you can be certain that my opponent is rallying his supporters -- Big Business, billion-dollar lobbyists, and far-right-wing PACs -- to launch an expensive and harshly negative attack against us.
