19. My, my, aren't we cranky

Yes, I've heard of a VCR. And I always record the games. I have to review them periodically throughout the year to gauge their progress. I have several years of various games on tape. I still pull out the 1986 KU-Duke game from time to time. Ah, the memories.

I don't just watch the game. I have to do my pre-game analysis. I have to check the injury reports, check local on-line papers & school papers to see how the opposition is playing, call around and find out who is having girlfriend problems (broken hearts have lost games) or roommate problems, then I have to check the sports boards and listen to the pregame show. It is never just a game, it is a way of life.

23. You should see me around tournament time
Not pretty. Most people know never to call me for +/- 1 hour of game time. I can't help it. I was indoctrinated into sports early by half dozen brothers, their friends and my dad. I grew up with three televisions in the house (and all in the living room) all turned to sports or politics or public television. It's why I'm such a geek.

So, see, I'm normal. At least as normal as evl.

Please respond. Enquiring minds want to know.

3. Yes you must wear your best dress and high heels
It is a repukelican costume party.

LOL One of my friends called me Tuesday afternoon to tell me that a group of Talent supporters were standing on a corner along Ward Parkway holding signs that said "VOTE TODAY". I said how do you know they are Talent supporters? She said well, they are wearing heels and dresses. The guys are in coats and ties.

5. LOL, they did the same thing for Ryun
I got a call from a friend Tuesday mid-morning. She said there were some people with Ryun signs at 23rd and Iowa waving at people. She wanted to know if we should get a bunch of people together and go out with Boyda signs. I asked her "how many honks did you hear?" and she said, after thinking about it, "none." We laughed and I told her our time would be better spent on GOTV efforts at HQ. I got a call from her not long after that. She went out with some signs but the Ryun people had already bailed.

Although, I don't know for sure if they were dressed up in their Sunday finest. She didn't mention their dress.

36. My dad's a blonde
So, sometimes I have to do things more than once. Like, what? It took me almost twenty-five times before I remembered not to fall for the "hey, let's go in the basement" trick.

Besides, the last time (and I mean the last time) I had a notebook and wrote "don't go into evl's attic AGAIN" in it. So there. Ha! Mind like a steel trap.

Now where is that fucking notebook. I know there's other stuff I'm not supposed to do but I can't find my fucking notebook.

37. I kept writing phone numbers on business cards.
Sometimes just phone numbers. No names. My brother and I would go, "Where's S0-and-So's number?" and start digging through the cards. And it's not like they were all in one place or anything. Oh, no. This went on for months. Then, one day, I had an epiphany. "Hey, there's an Address Book application on my computer." I felt very smart all of a sudden.

And if you ever want to see your notebook again ...
