Fucker. Sorry that information didn't come out until after the vote. At least it failed. But I have a feeling you'll be seeing that land proposed for other "civic" purposes.

Almost every city election around here we have at least two coaltions. One is developer backed and the other is whoever throws their hat in the ring (lately, an actual organized progressive coalition). It never ceases to amaze me how often the largest developer contributors have land they want to either sell or lease to the city. Right now, one of the local issues is what to do with the public library. Some people want it to stay where it is and add onto the current structure. Some people have already picked out alternate locations which, coincidentally, they also own. A lot of this information came out during the last city commission election when someone posted the campaign finance reports on-line and then started connecting the dots on who was going to benefit most if a certain slate of candidates were elected. Corruption exists at all levels of government.
