Has anyone else heard the rumor that Lawrence's CD will change?
I heard a rumor that there is talk that Lawrence will be moved, in its entirety, to the 2nd CD. This would mean that Moore's district would also have to be redrawn. While I am thrilled at the possibility that Boyda would be my Rep, I am also dismayed about the Democratic hold we've had on the 3rd.

Has anyone else heard this?

1. Are they gonna put your house on a truck?
They did that with my moms and it fell off.

6. Did she know they were going to move it?
I remember how it felt when my friend's car was stolen. We had gone out to dinner and after we left the restaurant and got to the parking lot his car was no where to be seen. The cops found what was left of the car a couple of weeks later.

I can't imagine what it would be like to run down the street for a pack of smokes & a six-pack and find the house gone when I got back.

Now mind you, in my distant past, I would go out and consume a pack of smokes and several six-packs and couldn't find my house. But that's a different matter.

7. It was planned.
She lived in a mobile home on the Kaw River when it flooded so badly in Edwardsvilled. That one was completely destroyed. She got another one and later decided to move down to the Ozarks near her brother. So, they loaded it on the truck and headed down the highway and it just fell completely apart. I asked why they called them mobile homes since they don't seem to tolerate moving very well. This is the same woman who used to drive a Yugo. I told her it was a Commie car. She used to tell me to shut up a lot.

8. Smart woman
And I'm not talking about the Yugo.

btw, here's a short history of mobile homes.

Mobile homes appear naturally in large fields. It is thought that they are formed when thousands upon thousands of discarded cans (for the shell, pipes and appliances) and a lesser number of plastic and glass containers (for windows, mirrors, appliances) get caught up in strong winds. It has also been speculated that newspapers and old "missing cat" flyers combine to form wall paper and, in some case the interior walls. Mobile homes are created by nature when strong (albeit non-tornadic) winds, usually caused by low flying UFOs, swirl the contents of these large fields together until it congeals into a rectangular formation. When this occurs repeatedly they are referred to as "outcroppings" or, less commonly, "lots". After several outcroppings, or lots, have been formed people move into the rectangular boxes.

Soon after their creation mobiles homes can be moved to new locations. Otherwise, mobile homes are only to be moved other natural forces such as, a tornado, a flood or an earthquake.

D'oh.

10. Back in high school we had a word for that kind of car
"boat" Then I became environmentally aware...

I know the histories of lots of things. Sometimes, my world is wonderful place to be.

11. A Yugo was a boat?
It was a tiny little can you couldn't get fixed.
But I do like your world.

12. Yes, a boat
You hauled near a park by the river. Then you cut a hole in the top, filled it with ice and kegs and had a party. When the kegs were emptied, you took them out and you pushed the boat into the nearest river and watched it sink.

I like my world too. I have a lot of friends there.

2. I have not heard that
but I will ask around. I wish they would stop doing this. If there is a good reason I suppose it is OK but as usual it is probably to try to assure a Republican district.

5. I only heard from one person
who said he had heard it from a couple of people. I'll try to find out who he heard it from and let everyone know what I find out. I just thought I'd ask, just in case one of you had heard it.
