Let's try something different for this month's gathering of Kansas City Drinking Liberally and Democratic Underground:

You are invited to help start a new tradition- The Annual John and Robert Kennedy Memorial Dinner, which will take place this Sunday, November 19 from 6:30 to 9 pm at Jalisco's, 5000 State Avenue, in Kansas City, Kansas. There will be a buffet available for $7.95 or you can also order off the menu.You are not required to purchase a dinner to attend.

This event is to be an informal celebration of the tragically shortened lives of these two who offered so much promise for America. Bobby would have been 81 this November 20.

There is a separate bar at the restaurant that is available.

Democracy For the Heart of America is also cosponsoring this event.

That does not sound like a group for teetotalers, unless you guys need a designated driver.

I met their organizer through some political groups I am in and he asked if he could invite his group to our meetups.

But we outnumber them. :)

12. We sometimes go to the Lawrence chapter's meetings

If you're anywhere near here, the DL group meets every Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Free State Brewery. Sometimes we get a private room, sometimes we're out in the open. Just ask at the desk when you arrive.

edited to add: my husband doesn't drink, so I have a built-in designated driver. The problem is convincing him to leave the house.
