Republican email about Nancy
Don't know how I got on this noisome list, but I do get some interesting stuff from them. Here's what they're saying (hence, what we need to rebut):

BOYDA VOTES FOR LARGEST TAX HIKE IN AMERICAN HISTORY
Supports Tax Hikes on Marriage, Children and Death

Washington--Nancy Boyda today joined the Democrat party in paving way for the largest tax increase in American history. This massive hike of nearly $400 billion will affect every worker in Kansas and increase 115 million people's tax liability by an average of $1,795 in 2011. Boyda also voted to increase non-defense spending by $24 billion dollars above the requested amount and ignored the looming effects of sky-rocketing entitlement spending.

"Nancy Boyda claimed herself an independent voice during her campaign," said Christian Morgan, Executive Director, Kansas Republican Party. "Now she is showing her true colors as a Pelosi-owned tax and spend liberal determined to raid the wallets of the middle class."

"She is quickly accumulating a record of both taxing and spending like it is going out of style," Morgan noted. "That is anything but fiscally responsible and anything but fair to hardworking Americans. Her defeat in 2008 can't come soon enough for Kansas taxpayers."

Why does Nancy Boyda want to increase taxes at the expense of hard-working Americans? By voting YES on Roll Call vote 212, Boyda supported:

* Raising the 10 percent tax rate bracket to 15 percent that would raise the taxes of more than five million individuals and families who previously owed no taxes.

* Eliminating marriage penalty tax relief, which would cause tax hikes for 23 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $466 in 2011.

* Cutting the child tax credit in half. This tax increase would raise taxes for 31 million taxpayers and middle-class families, on average, by $859 in 2011.

* Increasing the Death Tax by $91 billion dollars.

1. It's not a 'death tax'
It's an estate tax and unless you have an estate valued at $2 MILLION, you don't have to pay it.

2. same old Republican BS about tax cuts
Except for the 'death tax' lie, they like to talk about the parts of their tax cut that benefit lower income people. I hope I see some of it in local papers, I can dust off my old LTTEs

" In May of 2003 the 2nd Bush tax cut was passed. It increased the child tax credit from $600 to $1000 per child. It also saved Alice Walton, for example, something like $40 million in taxes on her Wal-mart dividends. The child credit is great, except for one thing - a family of four making less than $31,850 ($37,850 if they maxed their IRA contribution) was already paying no income taxes (but still paying $2436 in FICA taxes). So they got nothing from that tax cut which Ryun and Bush want to brag about.
Senate Democrats added a provision to make that credit refundable so those lower income families would get an extra $800, but Republicans got rid of that, in House-Senate conference, with no protest from either Bush or Ryun. Matt Bivens wrote in "The Daily Outrage" - "Of the 12 million children excluded from the increased child tax credit in the President's tax cut, over 1 million are the children of military servicemen and veterans. Of these, 260,000 children have a parent currently on active duty."
Later, House Republicans did vote to extend the child tax credit to families making over $120,000 a year. Bush and Ryun and the Republican Congress have been ignoring and short-changing ordinary working Americans while they cater to the wealthy. That is what I said, and what I understand and believe. No amount of pork, or even commendable funding for worthwhile projects, is going to change those facts - $40,000,000 for Alice Walton, and nothing for the 260,000 children of lower income soldiers. Under Ryun and Bush, no billionaires are left behind, but lots of children are."

3. Republicans are like Britney haters
They have so many things in common:
1. All they have to do is repeat something often enough, and it magically becomes the truth. Thus, Al Gore claimed to invent the Internet, Britney Spears had silicone breast implants at age 17, and

P.S. I'm the one joining the Draft Al Gore movement and met a few of you in Cedar Rapids at the Blue Strawberry.

4. Another lie
Another lie:
2. Republicans and Britney haters both like to swiftboat. Republicans kept claiming that John Kerry faked his service in Vietnam. Britney haters claim that not only is Britney dirty, but Mandy Moore as well. Just wait, the next Democratic nominee, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Lance Bass, JoJo, and Hilary Duff will all become serial killers armed with weapons of mass destruction.
