Gup is back!
evlspwn finally realized that being alone in an apartment all the time isn't good for her, so she's back to live with me.
Republican! *snort*

5. Now I feel bad
I know it was a hard decision for her to make. If it's any comfort, she's a helluva woman to know what's best for someone she loves will hurt sometimes. I once lived on a farm when a dog was abandoned. At least I think it was abandoned. He had no tags and showed up soon after a car drove by our house way out in the boonies and on a dead end road. I put food out and eventually he got hungry enough to eat it. Within a week he was a farm dog. Or, actually, the farm's dog.

See, I lived out in a scattered cluster of five farm houses. There were the two main houses, one for the original owners' and the other for their only daughter's family and three small "farm hand" houses. I lived in one of the two farm hand houses about quarter mile of a wheat field from the main houses. None of the houses were very far from each other and soon the dog, a doberman, took full advantage of it. He wandered from house to house playing with the other dogs and mooching food from everyone. Pretty soon, everyone felt like he was a part of their family. I felt like it too. He stayed at my house most nights. He'd ride in the cab with me when I was out working a field. I was the one who took him to the vet and on a couple of road trips. And when it came time for me to move from there I intended to take him with me. I thought thhere would be some objections from the other families but they recognized that he was more mine than theirs. Then it occurred to me: I would be going back to school full-time and working at least one part-time job. I wouldn't be able to spend the time with the dog that he was used to be spending with him. In addition, his whole lifestyle would change. He would be a house dog most of the day instead of the free roaming dog he had been for almost a year. I talked to all the neighbors and they were relieved that he would be staying. As much as I wanted to take him with me, I thought it was better for him to stay with the life he was comfortable with instead of what was comfortable for me.

evlspwn is a helluva woman!

6. You shouldn't.
She made the decision with no prompting And, yes, she makes me proud. She may visit me more often now.
I consider this temporary custody.

9. He likes to tell people it is
He's got classicfilmfan convinced he's a fugitive from various dog catchers across the south. How I ended up with him is a long and boring story (i.e. no large but noticeably uneven breasts were involved).

10. A flim-flam dog.
Maybe he shot a man in Reno...
The stories worth telling always involve large but noticably uneven breast.
