It was really nice to meet you guys. :hi: It's always so nice to put some faces with the names we see on the computer screen. You're a great looking couple. Sorry if we scared you. We can be a pretty scary bunch at times. I'm also sorry that Gilmore (and ComerPerro by proxy) was busy that evening. At least you got to meet Comer.

I just wanted to say that things around Lawrence are a-changing and not always for the better. I was sorry to hear turtlelowe tell us that the Spring Pow-wow/Graduation isn't as big as it was, say 5 - 10 years ago. I think it is partially the economy that is to blame. Haskell's budget kept getting cut under the GOP while prices for everything from gas to food continues to go up.

Anyway, it was great to meet you guys. I hope that y'all will let us know when you'll be in the area again. Hopefully we can have something fun, like a bonfire party in the country, arranged in your honor the next time you come through. If we do something at a private house we don't have to jump up en masse for smoke breaks. ;)

I was also glad to finally meet fellow townie/DU'er tblue.

I honestly didn't know what to expect, and I was delightfully surprised! :D
I don't know if its the economy that is making Haskell going further down the toilet...I think its predominately the higher ups at Haskell who don't take advantage of help/support from other agencies/companies. I know of 4 instances in which Swisher flushed down monetary support via local business, other tribes, and other corporations....

Its sad when the President goes to lobby for money, and when asked "how much money do you need" the president of Haskell doesn't even have a clue, and by proxy...she made Haskell look entirely, and utterly stupid....

Granted, funding for Haskell has dropped since GOP was in control, but Haskell made the situation a lot worse, imo.

I'm totally down for partying at a private house/park...:D And don't forget the road goes both ways! We got five acres of land to party on.....:D
