I'd like to find that bomb shelter first.

6. When you do, take lots of pictures of it.
And measure it for furniture.

7. I'm still wondering one thing
Will the landlord mind it if I start knocking out walls to find it? I guess I could start digging in the yard to see if the outside opening is still there. I have a general idea where the outdoor opening is supposed to be.

8. Go ahead and knock out walls.
Tell him you're tearing out all the phone lines.

9. Ooops, already happened
Maybe I should tell him I've gone on to bigger things like, "I'm ripping out the electrical lines."

Speaking of telephone lines, I need to buy a cordless set. I hate having to run to the one working phone in the house whenever it rings. Invariably it rings when I'm downstairs. It's frustrating. It reminds me of grandma's house. Remember when people used to have only one phone in the house? I think it was because everyone had to rent the phone from the phone company. Jezuz, I'm getting old.

10. I do remember.
And dialing. Rex has an old Western Electric/Bell phone in his fossil room. I wanted to steal it.

11. Sounds like a good place for it
The fossil room.

Ah, simpler times. I think I'm getting old.

13. Hey, can I come?
I mean, I promise I won't light up a cigar and do my Edward G. Robinson impersonation again.

And you can do the Robinson as long as it's on the porch.

15. Yeah you might want to take your bath BEFORE you go to the party
Just a suggestion though. Evl is a great host. He might not mind letting you use his bathtub.

18. evlbstrd's dog barked at me the minute I walked into the house!
I remember you posting a comment some time ago about how his dog won't bark at you until 15-20 minutes after you're inside the house.

But then, when I knocked on the front door, as a joke I identified myself as a representative of the "Jackson County Republican Party" and asked if I could count on a donation for the "McCain for President" fund. The fellow who answered the door (name escapes me) look at me askance and replied "not likely." Then when I entered, after presenting my business card confirming I was indeed not the person I claimed to be, the dog barked so maybe the dog hadn't seen my card yet and thought I was on the level about being with the GOP.

It was a fun party--I wish I could've stayed longer!

No McCain for President!
