2. What's with this book?
I thought Jenna was getting married next month. Why is she on a book tour?

And where has Barbara been? Are they hiding her?

3. No clue.
These people function on such a totally different planet than we do that what they do rarely makes any sense to me.

Is Jenna the one getting married? I don't care enough to follow any of this but now I am curious. Probably they have a wedding planner who wants that family with their "unusual taste" far far away while things are being done.

Oh I know....remember, they don't want us knowing any of their business so they are keeping it quiet and private. Would be nice to have that much privilege wouldn't it? :puke:

4. What I can't quite figure out
is exactly why or how Rainy Day Books changed. I used to go to their book events quite frequently. But then they started absolutely requiring you buy a book to be admitted to the venue, which strikes me as phenomenally short-sighted. And then they stopped having very many authors I'm interested in. It's that second one that I really can't figure out. Buy to attend, while I strongly think is foolish on their part, I can see the logic of. But where the authors I used to want to see are going to instead I wish I knew.

And they're far more likely to have authors of the right-wing ilk than of the left-wing ilk. Although, in fairness, they've also had the likes of Amy Goodman, and I even went to dinner with Amy, Roger and Vivian (the owners of Rainy-Day) and several others after that wonderful evening. But that was at least two, maybe three years ago.

6. Sorry I missed him.
I've stopped paying a lot of attention to who they're having, even though I get their newsletter.
