Records show Kline didn't drop Tiller efforts

TOPEKA | Court records show Phill Kline didn't give up on prosecuting abortion provider Dr. George Tiller after leaving the attorney general's office.
Kline, defeated as attorney general in 2006, became Johnson County district attorney in January 2007. Tiller's clinic is in Wichita.
Kline transferred copies of records he'd obtained from Tiller's clinic as attorney general to Johnson County three days before leaving the state job.
According to a transcript, a judge said during a court hearing that Kline saw a link between Tiller and a Planned Parenthood clinic in Overland Park — and possible wrongdoing. Planned Parenthood and a Tiller attorney deny wrongdoing.
Kline and Planned Parenthood are in a legal dispute before the Kansas Supreme Court over medical records. Documents in that case discuss Kline's continuing interest in Tiller.
