Isn't Dimson coming to Leawood, KS tomorrow for some private
party or fundraiser? Someone posted a copy of the rsvp ticket last week. $5000 per person, $7500 per couple.

1. Today - Thursday, May 29 in Bucyrus
Bush will be in Bucyrus, Kan., this afternoon to raise money for congressional candidate Nick Jordan.

He is expected to help bring in more than $400,000 at the fund-raising event which will be at a private home. It is closed to the press and public.

Most of the money being raised will go to Jordan, a Republican who is challenging Rep. Dennis Moore, a Democrat, in the Kansas 3rd congressional district.

Located off of U.S. 69, Bucyrus is a few miles south of the Johnson and Miami county line.

No information has been provided about when or where Bush will arrive in the area or how his visit will affect traffic.

2. details
Bush has arrived at a swank home just south of Johnson County in Bucyrus for a closed door fundraiser.

Bush is rasing money for state senator Nick Jordan who is hoping to challenge Dennis Moore for Ks 3rd district Congressional seat.

The fundraiser is being held at the home of Dalton Hermes, a yard and landscape magnate. The president expects to raise more than $400,000 for Jordan and other Kansas Republicans.

Comment on Prime Buzz:

I bet the Hispanics had the grounds....real nice for the Bush visit. I wonder if Hermes has exploited the illegals for several years to put him in a position to entertain the President. Ole Bush will probably set it up for him to get some more cheap labor thru his Mexico President buddy and all of the drugs he could ever want.

Hermes, the Sutherlands, the Hall family...

3. KS Democratic Party Re-Writes Invitation To Local Bush Fundraiser
Kansas Democratic Party Suggests Revised Invite to

President Bush’s Campaign Fundraiser for Nick Jordan

Topeka - In light of Sen. Nick Jordan’s welcome association with President Bush, Dick Cheney and the failed policies of the Bush administration, the Kansas Democratic Party is suggesting a more appropriate invitation to this Thursday’s fundraiser.

“A lifelong Kansan, Nick Jordan is a strong supporter of President George W. Bush, and Bush’s policies at home and abroad.

“For 12 years, Nick has worked tirelessly in the Kansas Senate to create a moderate public image, while never wavering from his true conservative credentials and his support for our President.

“Nick believes in President Bush and his policy of keeping our troops in Iraq indefinitely. Nick believes there’s nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed by continuing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq.
Read on…

Given how poor his popularity levels are and how disastrous his presidency has been, it’s no surprise that GOP candidates want to stay as far from Bush publicly as possible, but they’ll take his help to raise money from the fringe party base nonetheless. (see Senator John McCain) I have to hand it to the Kansas Democratic Party. They have embraced the internets and are showing some serious backbone. It helps to have strong Democrats like Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Rep. Nancy Boyda around to back up their message.
