HB 2182: Critical Public Hearing on the Holcomb Power Plants 2/4 at 9 a.m.
I just found out about this. Another one of those last minute meetings. Please contact members of the Energy & Utility Committee asap.

Public Hearing on the Holcomb Power Plants
and KDHE's right to protect the environment
Room 783, Docking State Office Bldg., Topeka

There will be a hearing Wednesday morning on HB 2182. In short, this bill removes authority from KDHE and allows Sunflower a permit for their two 700 MW power plants. Proposing to restrict our state's department of health and environment for one permit is unacceptable. It will be important for the committee to hear testimony in opposition to this from a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations. Please come and speak, call, or write members of the committee and encourage them to oppose this bill. See below for information on the hearing and contact information for the committee members.
This bill will be heard in the Energy & Utilities Committee on Wednesday, February 4 at 9 AM in Room 783 of the Docking State Office Building. Contact information for the members of the committee is on the KNRC website at:
