Demo Fest 2009

What a fabulous weekend!

Last night the Wichita Dems held a fundraiser and showed the new documentary 'What's The Matter With Kansas?'. Not only was it wonderful to sit in a theater with Democrats and watch this great film but the expected protesters were a no-show!

Democrats - a hundred or so

Teabaggers - zero

Then this morning the Progressive Caucus and the Young Democrats combined their caucus meetings and it was standing room only! What a thrill.

At lunch we heard several speakers. I was very impressed with Raj Goyle, who is running for Congress KS 4th district. He is currently a state rep who won his last election with 77% of the vote. Wow. He is very dynamic and one of the best candidates I have seen in Kansas in many years.
