FYI - Jimmy Carter book signing Thur. Nov. 30, 6 pm @ Sam's off of Blankenbaker Lane.
President Jimmy Carter will be signing his new book at Sam's Club just off of Blankenbaker Lane, Louisville @ 6 pm Thursday, November 30.

Only Sam's Club members will be allowed in to the signing but free one day passes are available to everyone who asks.

The Anti-Bush is coming to the Bluegrass State. Just thought DUers would love to see a honest, decent, hardworking president if given the chance.

If you plan on going you might want to get there early. I would expect a crowd. I am going to try and make the drive up to shake his hand and thank him for all his work at world peace.

*Note - I'm not crazy that he is booked at Sam's Club but maybe while he is there he can teach the store manager something about treating his employees decent, promote a living wage and benefits for all. (One can dream!)

1. Hunter S. Thompson
hung with Carter in Georgia while he was governor and deciding to run for President. Thompson said that he heard Carter give the best speech he ever heard any politician give at the annual "Court Day" event in Georgia. It seems another speaker that day "stole" Carter's speech, at least the thrust of it. Carter simply got up and gave an "impromptu" speech on the justice system that blew people away. I think it catalyzed Thompson's support of Carter for President.

2. Interesting location considering most of the people that go there also attend 6 Flags Over Jesus.
Too bad I didn't have a chance to get out there. Would have been awesome seeing him in person.
