Living in Lexington I am not around the worst of the worst when it comes to conservatives. I am afraid, though, that the Churches will see to it that he is elected. My Mom gets so angry because so many Churches back in Eastern Kentucky tell people who to vote for (always Republicans), and then they do, it's sickening. I have a cousin back in EKY who is a gun nut in the extreme, I am sure he will vote for him, we've had it out on Facebook a few times, he posts more pictures of weapons than of his kid!
But I am hoping Conway really hammers militia-boy's stand on social programs that help so many Kentuckians. It's one thing to be "against welfare" because people see that as someone other than their own, but when you are against the ADA, medicaid, when you dismiss coal miner's deaths as "there will be accidents", when you say it is unAmerican to criticize a FOREIGN company for an oil spill, that could have some traction.
I don't know how it will turn out, but Conway has a shot, with the lack of any alternatives in Kentucky to extremist right information from all directions it will be hard, but I wouldn't have given him the slightest chance against Grayson, so it is the best it can be. I am hoping I end up with my faith in my state restored, I haven't had a lot of that in a while.
