David Williams files to run for governor on ticket with Richie Farmer
FRANKFORT, Ky. — David Williams, who has run the Kentucky Senate for more than a decade, filed paperwork Wednesday with the state Registry of Election Finance to seek the Republican nomination for governor in 2011.

He and his running mate for lieutenant governor, Richie Farmer, the state agriculture commissioner and a former University of Kentucky basketball player, were scheduled to formally announce their candidacy at a press conference later in the morning.

The registry filing names former state Adjutant General Donald Storm of Elizabethtown as the campaign chairman.

The Williams-Farmer slate has for months been the goal of many Republicans, who see them as the party’s best hope in challenging incumbent Democrat Steve Beshear and his 2011 running mate, Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson.

1. It would be great to break Williams in that election.
I wonder why he would want to leave his palatial office?

5. If they win...
Will people be calling the Governor's office non-stop asking when Ritchie gets to start?

Seriously, I worry people are stupid enough to vote for this mess.
