Vitter organizing PAC to elect more GOP to LA offices

(((Vitter's remarks below came during a recent GOP meeting to change the date of LA's primary from March to Feb)))

The committee also heard from Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter of Metairie, who stressed the importance of party unity, and grassroots organization, particularly in the Christian community.

Vitter said it is particularly important to keep focused on legislative elections in 2007, when term limits will leave Republican-friendly districts up for grabs.

Vitter said he is helping organize a political action committee to help elect more Republicans to the Louisiana Legislature and possibly to statewide office. He declined to say whether what he called "a state-focused leadership PAC" would target the governor's race.

Vitter drew applause when he predicted that Louisiana is on the verge of turning from a "blue state to one proudly burning red for a long, long time to come."

1. Vitter is the politician
who was elected because of the Repub scandal involving Indian casinos.

Ralph Reed and Dobson were involved in this scandal as were Repub officials and lobbyists.

2. "burning red for a long, long time to come."
Yeah....if this happens, welcome to hell and eternal damnation.
What a pleasant thought.
