Snowballs Anyone?? Attn: New Orleans Uptowners BOYCOTT |
Yesterday we took our nephew and his buddy to the Plum Street snowball stand. This is a white family owned business whose gets AT LEAST 65% of it's business from the black community (based on my observations). As we were paying them, i noticed they had a stack of flyers recruiting BUSH volunteers and advertising for a "Walk for W" fundraising event for Bush in Metairie! I had on a Kerry/Edwards button. I won't be going back. I'll check out the place on Carrollton from now on.

1. You should make a point of letting them know that |
When they start losing business over that bullshit, they might just reconsider.

2. I go to the Carollton one |
Its pretty close to my house (off Esplanade). The snowballs are good there, and you don't get propaganda.

3. Holy shit! I used to get snow balls there back in the 70s. |
I live just a few blocks from the Plum Street snowball stand and have gone there for years. Well, I'm going there tomorrow to look for myself. If I see ONE piece of Bush literature I'm gonna let 'em have it! They'll hear that they are losing a customer of 3 decades!.. and I have a BIG mouth, especially when at PJ's or Rue.

4. Did they have the flyers out on the counter when you went? |
I'm not sure what the date of the "Walk for W" fundraising event was. If it was this past weekend, they may have removed the flyers. These flyers were also calling for volunteers for the Bush campaign..so maybe they still have them out there. Let me know. I used to live very near there as well but I think the place on Carollton is probably closer to me now.

5. haha ..... in baton rouge.... |
it's amazing that people do things like this and think it won't hurt their business. i live in baton rouge and there is a vacuum cleaner business on government street that still has a 'susie terrell for senate' sign on the broad side of their building. it has been two years and they are too stupid to take it down.
