The Landrieu Election
How are things going with the Landrieu election? I was looking for some poll numbers and saw a poll that had Landrieu leading by three percentage points. What are the polls that you are seeing looking like? Is her lead bigger or smaller? How does the campaign seem to be going?

1. Haven't heard a word about it on local news or radio....
....but she can go fuck herself for the DINO she is...like she's done her constituents for the last 8 years. :puke:

Or any of the GOP slime that they put up against her. She's done a far better job advocating for Katrina relief than the Republicans have and she is very active in actually supporting our troops and veterans unlike the Republicans who would rather give that money to rich people with tax cuts (which she voted against, by the way).

Yes Landrieu is conservative on a lot of issues. It's pretty much impossible not to be in this state. But I reserve the DINO label for people like Lieberman who endorse the Republican nominee. Landrieu is still a loyal Democrat and did a fund-raiser for Kerry in 2004.

In your profile it says you are from Louisiana so I'm surprised that you are so critical of her. Again, she ain't perfect but if you live here you know just how much worse the GOP is and how damn Republican this state has become (especially after Katrina). Most of the criticism she gets on DU comes from out of state folks who don't know what it is like down here.

...people who worked their asses off for her...so I have NO RESPECT for her anymore and would like to see her GEAUX AWAY! :nopity:

We have a MAJORITY of Democrats in the state legislature and they act more like repukes every day...giving themselves HUGE raises...I don't need a lecture on how politics is...down here or anywhere else...it's all the same shit..just not as deep sometimes...but thanks anyway. :hi:

5. Can you elaborate what she did to supporters in your town?
And there's a reason the state legislature gave themselves a huge pay raise. The 16,000 a year that they used to make isn't a real salary and that means that people who are not independently wealthy can't afford to take the time off of work to be a legislator. Attaching a real salary to the job makes it more available to the non-rich.

...as far as their reasoning for that pay raise...that's a load of crap too...non-rich people can't get elected in this country. x(

3. Not too much polling, it's gonna be nailbiter, but...
She has every substantial advantage due to incumbency.
