Louisiana DUers, I have a question... |

I was wondering if any of you could tell me why it appears as if the Cassidy-Cazayoux race isn't going to have to go into a runoff even though Cassidy didn't manage more than 50% of the vote. Are there special circumstances because the seat was already contested earlier this year? I'm sure I could find the answer to this race if I dug around the "Internets" a while, which I'll probably go on and try to do, but I thought I'd just ask in case y'all knew off of the top of your heads. I figured this race would be like the Chambliss-Martin Senate race in GA and be heading toward a mandatory runoff.

Looks like the primary system has been changed altogether. That's kind of disappointing, as I've always liked the way that Louisiana did it.
