In an informal kickoff to the first annual
Southern Improv Festival, which runs October 14-17 and features nationally known troupes, local New Orleans comedians will host a debate party on Wednesday, October 13 at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7:15) at the Jewel Gallery at 2134 Magazine (corner of Jackson). Tickets are $5, BYOB.
On a big-screen projection, the performers and audience will watch the third Kerry-Bush debate live, all the while giving lighthearted commentary similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000. As the debate concludes, a 30-60 minute comedy set with scenes and monologues will be improvised on the spot.
Come for either segment or for both! No need to reserve tickets, there's lots of room!
