Can Democrats keep this Senate Seat? I support John....

I know that he's NOT perfect, but he's like John Breaux and he CAN win! Chris John's vote will help to give us the majority in the Senate.

2. The Massachusetts senate

passed a change in Mass. law to allow a special election in the event of a vacated seat in the states senators. Previously the seat would be apointed by the Govenor, Mitt Romney Republican. This change allows Mass. voters decide. So theres a better than good chance it will be a Dem. I like Marty Meehan.

4. The polls have

David Vitter at 47%. Repugs are trying for the 51% vote to avoid the runoff. I think there will be a runoff. Then if Breaux can campaign for Chris he might pull it through.

where y'at?
I have serious concerns regarding this senate seat. It may just be I am not in the loop on this, but seems people are not giving attention this open seat warrants.
Vitter seems a shoe in either for a win outright or in runoff, simply because of name recognition, and dilution of the dem field.
I would love to vote for Kennedy, but don't believe he has a shot.
I'll end up voting for that cockfighting supporter John as an attempt to defeat Vitter.
Here in New Orleans, we see mostly Vitter signs/stickers. Ugh!! Where the hell are the LaDems?!!!!!! Why hasn't the party done SOMETHING visible to help defeat Vitter?!!

And yea I feel the same way about John, he's a DINO but he's another vote for the caucus and I want to see an end to David Vitter's political career.

7. I support John

He's our best shot. We need to keep our eyes on the prize and stop fretting about non-issues like cockfighting. We need a Democrat in that seat. Kennedy has attracted a lot of goodwill with his campaign to "find" money for folks (and I'm only a little bitter because our found money hasn't yet been returned to us :-) ) but I wish Kennedy would consider backing out and supporting John rather than giving Vitter a chance to walk away with it. But maybe it doesn't matter as long as 50 percent doesn't go to Vitter, it just scares me, because there is only one sign in my neighborhood (western St. Tammany) for John and the rest are Vitters. Even people who don't have "W" signs have Vitters.

I have met Mr. Vitter and have no use for him whatsoever for whatever that is worth!

8. Louisiana makes me puke

That state is solidly Right-Wing. DINOS will soon be put to pasture as the Repukes gain a foothold on this state the same way they have in Texas, GA, South Car, etc....

I want Johns to win, but I am no big fan of any of these characters. They all are trying to out-Republican each other.

If I was a candidate after Vitter said we need to "get government" out the way and open our own resources for exploration like ANWR, I would have said, "How can you get government out of the way when the land you are talking about is government land?"

People in Louisiana are good people, don't get me wrong, but the stench of Conservatism is too much for me.

10. I'm voting for Mr Kennedy

He is an actual pragmatic progressive. Chris John would be another half-measure Democrat who'd support Republican fiscal policies too often. We don't need that.

But I guess in the runoff I'd HAVE to vote for him. David Vitter would be a horror show.

I think it will be Kennedy in the primary and John in the run-off for me.
