Republican lawmaker to step down Tuesday
AUGUSTA, Maine — A Republican state representative from southern Maine plans to resign.

Representative Philip Cressey of Cornish has told Republican leaders of his departure to become effective Tuesday.

Cressey´s been serving as an interim pastor at the First Baptist Church in Rowley, Mass., and legislative records show that Cressey was present for only about 16 percent of the roll-call votes during the session that ended in June.

...

Cressey´s District 99 includes the towns of Baldwin, Cornish, Denmark, Limington and Sebago.

Looks like 5 special elections in November.

1. amazing

he ran for election? then he voted 16% of the time? I find this amazing it took so long for him to step down. regardless of party didn't he feel he owed this to the people who elected him? what strange bed-fellows politicans have become!
to the quick: look out for me -to hell with you!

4. Walcott
He has said he did this, so unless he is lying about his criminal activity to gain street cred, I think he has big trouble. Cressey is a minister. Talk about not setting a good example.

5. I didn't realize Wolcott had admitted it
He should be in big trouble.

Yes, Cressey should have known better.
