Representatives Michaud and Allen will meet with community leaders, residents, educators, laid off workers, union leaders and business leaders. The Congressmen will also tour businesses and meet with entrepreneurs providing jobs in the area to hear their concerns and to discuss how the local economy can be further improved.
"I am committed to improving economic opportunity that provides good, stable jobs in Maine," Allen said. "The economic policies of the Bush-Cheney administration have focused on giving breaks to big corporations that many times move jobs overseas.
"To move communities like those in Washington County forward, we need policies that bolster small businesses and those providing job growth and opportunity that stay here. I look forward to hearing ideas of members of the community along with Congressman Michaud," Allen added.
