I just came in the door from phone banking in Waterville.
I have been canvassing and phone banking all summer for Obama and Allen. I feel so good about it because I am doing my part to help get a Democratic President in the Oval Office and a Democratic Senator for the State of Maine. If anyone lives in the Waterville area, I want you to know that the Maine Democratic Party just opened an office there and needs all the volunteers they can muster. They are located on Common St, just off Maine Street near the Opera House. Go in there and introduce yourself to Dustin. He is such a wonderful guy who is running the office (and he also ran the one in Augusta.) He just graduated from Colby in May and has so much to offer to the campaign, to Maine, and to the country!! BTW, there will be a Grand Opening of the Waterville office on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 3:00. I hope to see many Maine DUers there!! BTW, I'm not even a Maine resident. Just here for the summer.

2. That's great!! Tom Allen will be a super Senator.
I guess when phone banking we meet all kinds. I had a couple of people who were supporting McCain, but when asked which issue was the most important issue to them (Iraq War; Jobs and Economy; Health Care; Energy and Fuel Costs) they said Iraq War. Now how on Earth can you be for McCain and consider the war to be most important to you? Maybe that person just wants to see the war go on and on and on...
