Absentee Ballot Request Service

Welcome to the State of Maine Online Absentee Ballot Request Service. Maine citizens who are registered to vote may use this free service to request an absentee ballot for the November 3, 2009 Referendum Election. There are three options for using this service. Please review and select one of the options listed below. For more information about absentee voting and voter registration you may select A Guide to Absentee Voting in Maine or the Maine Voter Guide.

Voters should be aware that a municipality is not required to mail an absentee ballot to a voter at an address outside the municipality on November 2nd, and a municipality is not required to mail an absentee ballot to any voter on November 3rd. Please contact your municipal clerk for other methods of obtaining a ballot.

Option 1: Complete Request Form and Submit Electronically

Some municipalities have agreed to accept electronic absentee ballot requests. Any individual registered in a participating municipality may submit an electronic request. To choose this option, simply select your municipality from the participating town drop down box then select the button to complete the online form. Please Note: If you do not reside in one of the municipalities listed below, you may not submit an electronic request for an absentee ballot. You must use Option 2 or Option 3, or you may contact your municipal clerk directly.

Option 2: Complete Request Form, Print and Mail

All Maine citizens who are registered to vote have the option of completing the request form online, printing and signing the completed form, and mailing the form to their municipal clerk. To choose this option, select the button below.

Option 3: Print Blank Request Form

This option allows anyone to print and distribute blank Absentee Ballot Application forms. To choose this option, select the button below.
