NO TAX BREAKS FOR MILLINOCKETT MILLS |
|
Perhaps I misunderstood the reasoning for the refusal of discussing tax abatements to possible new owners of the millinocket mills. The governors reasoning was we couldn't afford to give the 48 million tax break so don't look for any help from the state of Maine! (HMMM HMMM) Well gov. lets talk your lingo! if the deal falls through not only will we lose about 400 new jobs but could see existing mill fold and we would lose the 460 jobs already there! So your thinking is 100% tax or no go! your result will more than likely be a 100% of nothing=nothing! as a matter of fact the unemployment costs, loss taxable income, retraining programs and welfare will eat up a good share of that 48 million you didn't negotiate ! but than who ever said your agenda was about jobs! people or doing the right thing! oops your campaign did! (hmmm, hmmm) wake up people its dirty business as usual in a different wrapper!
